Thank you for your interest in Health Canada’s (HC) Decompression Program! This innovative, virtual, two-week psychoeducational training program is designed to support mental health and well-being for federal public servants who have experienced significant workplace stress. It includes training, group work, and time away to process, rest and recover. It is offered on a cost recovery basis through Specialized Organizational Services, a unit of HC’s Employee Assistance Services division. The cost to participate is $2500 per person.

Privacy Notice
The personal information you provide to Health Canada will be collected by the Decompression Program under the Department of Health Act and handled in accordance with the Privacy Act.
Why are we collecting your personal information? We are collecting your personal information to process your registration in the Decompression Program, to facilitate disconnecting from work during your participation in the Decompression Program, to support accommodation needs and to be able to address emergencies should they arise. Self-identification information is collected for aggregate statistical reporting. The Decompression Delivery Team may contact you via your government email address after your completion of the Program to inform you of new developments to the Program.
Will we use or share your personal information for any other reason? Upon request by those with a need to know (e.g., your management), we will disclose minimum information regarding your attendance (i.e., if you participated or withdrew).
What happens if you don’t want to provide your personal information? Certain personal information on the registration form is mandatory. If you choose not to provide this information, we will be unable to process your registration.
What are your rights? You have the right to access and request a correction and/or notation to your personal information. You also have a right to complain to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you feel your personal information has been handled improperly.
